Job summary

Amazon Leo’s ALG Engineering seeks a Network Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate scalable network infrastructure across data centers and labs. You will own architectures supporting production systems and validation environments, delivering reliability and rapid reconfigurability for hardware integration.

You bring Linux, switching fabrics, routing, automation, and a track record of building scalable, multi-tenant networks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 1+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 3+ years of network engineering (design, deployment, operations).
• Proficiency in network automation (Python, Ansible, or equivalent).
• Experience with enterprise/data center switching platforms (Arista, Cisco Nexus, Juniper).
• Hands-on experience with Linux networking (bridges, namespaces, virtual interfaces, firewalling).
• Experience operating in multi-tenant or shared infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design & deploy network architectures — switching fabrics, routing, segmentation, and connectivity across data center and infrastructure environments.
• Automate network provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows; build tooling that scales infrastructure.
• Operate & sustain multi-tenant network environments including technology refresh, scaling, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot & resolve complex cross-domain network events spanning physical layer through application connectivity.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software engineering teams to define requirements and ensure smooth rollout of new designs and products.
• Lead projects in network deployment, sustaining engineering, and infrastructure scaling.
• Maintain change management, documentation, and configuration control; ensure compliance across networking toolset.
