Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering team. You will design, deploy, and sustain large-scale IP networking across AWS data centers, collaborating with automation and systems teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

You will handle on-call rotations, contribute to network engineering projects, and lead efforts from Top of Rack to network border, ensuring security and performance for AWS customers.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of automation scripting experience.
• 4+ years in a network-focused hands-on role with IP routing in large-scale data center and/or WAN environments.
• 4+ years in engineering, deployment, or operations for IP networking systems.
• 4+ years in a technical on-call capacity, responding to customer-impacting events.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality network and systems operations, deployments, scaling, sustaining engineering, and document procedures.
• Create and implement changes on the network.
• Collaborate with automation teams to scale tooling and processes.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, refresh, and optimization.
• Sustain AWS backbone networks and provide support during large network events.
