Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Development Engineer to own the lifecycle of AWS IP networks, including design, engineering, and operations. The role involves leading hyper-scale network projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving automation to scale our public sector network infrastructure.

The candidate should be hands-on, autonomous, and capable of working in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment, with strong communication and project management

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 5+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 3+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl
• Experience in IP networking technologies such as - BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, MPLS, TCP, SLB, network hardware platforms, and packet forwarding architectures in areas such as network design, engineering, implementation, and/or operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, engineering, implementation, and operations of current and new IP networks.
• Lead design and evolution of hyper-scale networks from concept to launch and beyond.
• Define and influence strategy within and outside the team.
• Lead project teams to deliver benefits to customers.
• Collaborate with network engineers and software developers to automate network deployment and operations.
• Drive operational excellence projects to improve network performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions while mentoring engineers.
• Review and implement changes on the network.
