Job summary

LanceSoft, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Network Control Specialist to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot network problems from an operations center using network management and monitoring tools.

You will work in a 24x7 control environment with shifts including nights and weekends when needed, performing root cause analysis to restore services and coordinating with internal teams and telecom partners to improve restoration times.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Networking, Information Technology or related field, or a combination of 2 years of directly related work experience, post-secondary education and/or industry Certifications.
  • Experience with domain knowledge of L1 through L4 of the OSI Model.
  • Experience with L2 and L3 protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IBGP, EBGP, IS-IS, and MPLS.
  • SNMP and Network Management System (NMS) applications used to monitor networked devices.
  • Preferred: LTE, RF and VPN technologies; call center phone systems; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; high service levels in customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot network problems within an operations center using network management and monitoring tools.
  • This position monitors the alarm conditions on the network to proactively identify and minimize disruption and impact to end users on the network.
  • Work in a 24x7 network control environment, with shifts including nights and weekends when needed.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine a plan of action for restoring customers services
  • Operate among internal teammates and external telecommunication partners to follow through with operational processes and improve restoration times.
  • Coordinate with User Community, Field Services Group, and telecom partners for Break/Fix actions and Change Management.
  • Document Trouble Tickets and Change Requests of all related activities
  • Support short-term emergency evacuation to local or remote backup facilities.

  • This position monitors the alarm conditions on the network to proactively identify and minimize disruption and impact to end users on the network.
  • This position is part of a 24x7 network control environment, working shifts include nights and weekends when needed.
  • Perform root cause analysis to determine a plan of action for restoring customer's services
  • Operate among a myriad of internal teammates and external telecommunication partners to follow through with operational processes and improve restoration times.
  • Facilitate coordination with our User Community, the Field Services Group, and telecommunication partners for both Break/Fix actions, as well as Change Management activities
  • Document Trouble Tickets and Change Requests of all related activities
  • Support short-term emergency evacuation to local or remote backup facilities.
Qualifications:

Experience with the following:

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Network Management System (NMS) applications used to monitor networked devices.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience working with Long Term Evolution (LTE), Radio Frequency (RF) and VPN technologies.

Experience with call center phone systems and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience required in maintaining high service levels in a demanding customer support services environment.

CCENT, CCNA, CCNP and/or ITIL v3/4 certifications.
