About the Role

Our client, a growing logistics company located in Queenstown, Eastern Cape , is seeking a dedicated and skilled Network Administrator. This essential role will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our company's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal network performance, security, and reliability to support business operations. You will be the go-to person for all network-related issues, working to maintain a stable and efficient network environment. This is a key position for ensuring seamless communication and data flow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Perform regular network maintenance, including updates and patches.
• Manage IP addressing and DNS configurations.
• Ensure network availability and redundancy.
• Provide technical support to end-users for network-related problems.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
• Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in network administration.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, or similar network devices.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Experience with network security principles and tools (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
