Job summary

PMA Consultants is seeking an experienced NetSuite Project Accounting Specialist to support our project-based consulting business from our Ann Arbor headquarters in a hybrid role.

The successful candidate will partner closely with project managers, finance leaders, and operations teams to manage client contracts, budgeting, and billing activities using NetSuite. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in project accounting, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in business or accounting, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of project accounting experience with billing and general accounting duties.
• Experience with NetSuite and NetSuite billings module.
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, or Deltek Vision.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to perform math and detail-oriented tasks.
• Knowledge of laws, ethics, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency.
• Reliability in handling accounts and documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage project lifecycle billing activities within NetSuite ERP.
• Customize invoices following multiple clients' requirements.
• Keep project records and project files organized, updated, and accessible.
• Establish project and task structures within NetSuite to support billing.
• Monitor and manage project account balances to identify issues.
• Communicate with project managers and clients to resolve payment issues.
• Organize timesheet data for invoices and coordinate sub-consultant invoices.
• Monitor project budgets to ensure projects stay within approved budgets.
• Alert managers when approaching budget maximum.
• Answer questions and handle client communications regarding invoices and collection duties.
• Participate in internal initiatives supporting other departments.
