Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. You will analyze results, prepare detailed reports, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced, travel-heavy role.

The position requires 7+ years of HV testing experience, deep knowledge of NETA standards, and proficiency with diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

NETA Level III or IV certification currently in good standing.
7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
Proficient with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).

Responsibilities

Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
Interpret test results and write comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
