Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform testing and commissioning on high-voltage power systems across regional/national projects. You will mentor junior technicians, analyze test results, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS and NFPA 70E requirements.

The role requires extensive HV testing experience, travel up to 75%, and a strong background with protective relays and high-end test equipment.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with listed test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Conduct insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings/recommendations.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; lead multi-discipline project teams.
