Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) in Texas with up to 75% travel on regional and national projects. The role offers base compensation up to $110/hour plus OT and bonuses.

You will perform testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV, analyze data, and generate comprehensive reports while ensuring NETA/OSHA safety compliance and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV current certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
