Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to support regional and national projects in Texas. This full-time role includes up to 75% travel and compensation up to $110/hour, with OT, signing bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance tests on high-voltage power systems, review test results, mentor technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA standards.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
