Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to join our team in Texas. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV, conduct system studies, and calibrate protective relays.

Travel up to 75% regional and national projects, with strong advancement opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package. Ideal candidates bring NETA Level III/IV, 7+ years of high-voltage testing experience, and proficiency

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field and serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety requirements.
