Job Description

Tulsa, Oklahoma: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a NETA Field Technician (Level I – Senior Technician) to join our team. This position involves testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage substation equipment. Candidates will be placed into technician levels based on certification and experience.

Essential Duties:

1. Perform testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear, including:

• Protective relaying and relaying systems
• Circuit breakers
• Power transformers
• Current and potential transformers
• Power system metering and transducers
• Power cables and grounding systems
• Motors and motor starters
• Station batteries and chargers
• Alarm systems, annunciators, and personal protective equipment

Troubleshoot and analyze system issues; recommend corrective actions and repairs.

Generate technical reports outlining services provided, issues encountered, and resolutions.

Maintain professional communication with clients and internal management.

Coordinate scheduling of manpower and equipment.

Adhere strictly to all safety protocols—zero tolerance for unsafe practices.

Perform other duties as required.

Requirements/Skills:

• NETA Certification (Level II, III, or IV) required.
• AAS in Electrical or Electronics Technology or equivalent field experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience in the high-voltage industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals and high-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with protective relaying, substation components, and control/protection systems.
• Understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA).
• Ability to read and interpret substation drawings and drafting standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• PowerDB knowledge is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must pass a physical exam.
• Pre-employment and random drug screenings required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel at least 50%.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.
