Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. This role requires regional to national travel up to 75% and offers a comprehensive benefits package with competitive compensation.

The ideal candidate will hold NETA III/IV certification, have 7+ years of HV testing experience, and be proficient with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz and SKF.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and test equipment.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc-flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
