Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking Facility Operations Technicians for opportunities at Alberta Operations in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The role supports Dow's operations, including Path2Zero, and involves monitoring plant performance, maintenance support, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Team-based work across multiple units with opportunities for technical training and certifications. Candidates should be prepared for travel to training locations and be able to operate in fully encapsulated PPE

Qualifications

• Education: Two-year technical diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology, Power Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Certifications: Commitment to work towards ABSA Class 4 or higher technical certifications.
• Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work legally in Canada (no visa sponsorship provided).
• Driver's License: A valid Canadian driver's license is required.
• Shift Work: Comfortable with 12-hour rotating shifts in alignment with plant startup and operational schedules.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot plant operations across Hydrocarbons, Solution Polyethylene, Gas Phase Polyethylene, and Power & Utilities.
• Operate control systems, adjust processes manually, and conduct field checks to maintain optimal performance.
• Isolate and prepare plant equipment for maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
• Work alongside maintenance teams to ensure downtime is minimized and operational efficiency is maintained.
• Follow Life Critical Standards and Operating Discipline policies to maintain safe and reliable operations.
• Participate in safety drills and Emergency Response Brigade training (live fire, rope rescue) and wear all required PPE.
