Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Software Engineer to join a high-energy, collaborative team delivering modern software using CI/CD, testing, and design patterns. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable .NET applications in C#, including customized extensions for content capture and storage platforms such as Kofax, and modernize legacy VB6 apps to .NET 4.5+.

You will work in an agile environment with QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure reliable deployments, build automation, and performance

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 4.5+ and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of OOP and design principles (SOLID, cohesion, coupling, design patterns).
• Experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases; ability to design efficient schemas and stored procedures.
• Proficient in XML, JSON, and HTML5.
• Familiarity with SOA and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Understanding of HTTP, proxies, and web servers (Apache/Nginx).
• Version control experience (Git).
• Knowledge of concurrency and multi-threading in C#.
• Familiarity with open-source development practices.
• Experience with Python/JavaScript is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Protect confidential data and ensure secure handling.
• Demonstrate Ascensus' core values in daily actions.
• Translate storyboards and use cases into scalable software solutions.
• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain .NET applications using C# and ASP.NET.
• Develop extensions for Kofax applications to improve content capture.
• Improve performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues per SLAs.
• Participate in SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
• Support process improvement strategies.
• Migrate VB6 to .NET 4.5+ conversions.
• Develop and consume REST/SOAP web services and integrate with existing apps.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps and support teams for deployment and operation.
• Apply automation and CI/CD practices to releases.
• Leverage AI tools to automate workflows and add intelligent features.
• Engage in design discussions with stakeholders.
• Assist in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.
• Perform other related duties.
