Job summary

ION Solar, LLC is seeking a Net Metering Specialist in Orem, UT to manage residential net metering applications with utilities. The role involves preparing, submitting, and tracking applications while keeping homeowners informed throughout the process.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous solar industry experience is required.
• Experience with net metering, interconnection, utility applications, permitting, or related solar operations is preferred.
• Previous customer-service experience is required.
• Experience working with utility portals is preferred.
• Administrative, data-entry, or project-coordination experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit net metering applications for residential solar projects to utility companies.
• Review project documents and system information for accuracy before submission.
• Monitor applications through the utility review and approval process.
• Provide customers with clear, timely updates on their net metering applications and deadlines.
• Communicate with customers by phone, email, and other approved channels.
• Explain utility requirements or delays in clear, approachable language.
• Follow up with utilities regarding status and timelines.
• Maintain accurate project statuses and communications in internal systems.
• Identify missing information or delays and coordinate resolutions with customers and internal teams.
• Ensure updates and requirements are clearly communicated to internal departments.
