Job summary

TransCore is seeking a skilled .NET Application Support Engineer in Ashburn, VA to ensure stability and performance of enterprise applications on the Microsoft stack. You will bridge development and operations, dive into C#/.NET code, diagnose failures, tune IIS, and write automation scripts to eliminate repetitive tasks.

The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with a passion for root-cause analysis, scripting deployments, and building robust infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting or developing .NET applications
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience with IIS web server environments
• Experience writing PowerShell scripts for automation
• Proficient in T-SQL and SQL Server

Responsibilities

• Own L2/L3 technical support for high-availability .NET applications, APIs, and Windows Services.
• Analyze and debug C# source code to identify defects, trace execution flows, and deliver root-cause analysis (RCA) to the core development teams.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize IIS (Internet Information Services) web servers, application pools, and environment variables across staging and production servers.
• Develop and maintain a library of PowerShell scripts to automate routine operations, application deployments, system health checks, and data fixes.
• Troubleshoot application data faults by writing and optimizing complex T-SQL queries, analyzing stored procedures, and resolving SQL Server bottlenecks.
• Proactively monitor application health logs and maintain detailed technical documentation for known errors, environment configurations, and recovery procedures.
