Job summary

PSEG Long Island seeks a Transmission Operations NERC Compliance Specialist to manage compliance with NERC Operating and Planning standards for LIPA's registrations. You will review standards, advise on applicable changes, and develop RSAWs for audits.

The role involves updating policies, supporting NYISO committees, and coordinating with SMEs. Travel within the service territory may be required; a valid US driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; 5 years experience, or 8 years without degree.
• Experience with NERC reliability and Transmission control center.
• Knowledge of NERC rules and policies for reliability.
• Knowledge of Transmission control center operation.
• Understanding of wind, solar, and storage design fundamentals and risks to bulk electric system.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders across an organization.
• NERC Transmission Operator or Reliability Coordinator certification expected within 6 months.
• Valid US Driver's License required to travel within service territory.

Responsibilities

• Review proposed new or updated NERC Standards and/or NERC alerts. Provide feedback/recommendations to Compliance group.
• Develop or update Transmission Operations Policies and procedures to comply with standards. Travel within service territory in field as required.
• Maintain evidence in support of NERC Reliability standards.
• Maintain, develop and update Reliability audit standard worksheets. Review with Compliance.
• Represent LIPA on NYISO Transmission operations Working Group and attend meetings.
• Perform compliance related tasks (Protection Memo review, annual verifications, emissions reports).
• Develop review and monitoring of internal controls to maintain compliance with NERC standards.
• Provide updates as SME and coordinate RSAW updates.
