Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering timely, quality patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, managing patient flow, and assisting with procedures.

Required qualifications include completing a Medical Assistant program; external candidates may be eligible for a $2,000 starting bonus. This 1.0 FTE position offers 8-hour day/evening shifts with no weekends and mileage reimbursement within 20 miles of Shakopee.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description
• Candidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program or a comparable healthcare education program with a similar scope of clinical training
• Candidates with fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent clinical practicum

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.
• Performs injections.
• Assists with procedures.
• Coordinates results of tests, procedures etc. with provider or RN.
• May assist with patient transportation.
