Job summary

EDGE Engineering and Science seeks a multi-disciplinary National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Project Manager to work independently on environmental documents, primarily EAs and EISs, and related studies for pipelines, fiber optics, marine infrastructure, and coastal restoration. You will collaborate with federal agencies, clients, and EDGE’s NEPA Practice to develop legally defensible documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in environmental sciences, geology, planning, or similar field; Master’s preferred.
  • 7–10 years NEPA experience or comparable writing and document development experience.
  • Deep understanding of NEPA and related laws (CWA, ESA, NHPA).
  • Ability to manage time, meet deliverables, and balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client events and engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct NEPA impact analyses for a wide range of public projects and develop appropriate NEPA documentation.
  • Manage preparation of EISs, EAs, and categorical exclusions and other environmental documents.
  • Participate in authorship of sections of applicable NEPA documents.
  • Oversee NEPA documents prepared by subconsultants and perform QA/QC.
  • Coordinate with agencies and the public to meet compliance, communicate project details and document stakeholder input.
  • Stay updated on NEPA law, policy, and guidance; integrate environmental considerations into project planning.
