Job summary

Stantec seeks an Environmental Planner Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for NEPA projects on Federally-owned lands. You will manage schedules and budgets, coordinate teams, ensure quality, and communicate with clients in a hybrid Solana Beach, CA-based role.

The role involves preparing NEPA documents, reviewing environmental studies, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing office and field teams while coordinating with subconsultants.

Qualifications

• 5 years of related work experience as a project manager with demonstrated NEPA project management experience.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines across time zones.
• Ability to acquire background clearance sufficient to gain entry to military installations and/or controlled access facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Environmental Planner Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for NEPA projects on Federally-owned lands, managing schedule, budget, team coordination and client communications.
• Prepare and manage environmental impact documents and related mitigation plans (NEPA) and review technical studies and field surveys informing NEPA documents.
• Mentor junior environmental planners as SMA in regulatory processes and NEPA document analysis, and client interactions.
• Oversee office- and field-based project teams, deliverables, files, safety program, subconsultants, contracting, and project contracts.
• Candidate will report to Solana Beach, CA office but may qualify for remote hybrid work.
