Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner Project Manager to lead NEPA projects for Federally-owned lands, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring quality deliverables. Remote hybrid work is possible with reporting to the Solana Beach, CA office.

Minimum 5 years of NEPA project management experience and a relevant degree are required. Strong technical writing and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5 years of project management experience with NEPA projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, geology, chemistry, or urban planning.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across time zones and meet deadlines.
• Ability to acquire background clearance for military installations or controlled access facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Environmental Planner Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for NEPA projects, including schedule and budget management, team coordination and leadership, and client communications.
• Prepare and review environmental impact documents and mitigation plans (EA/EIS); review technical studies and field surveys informing NEPA documents.
• Mentor junior environmental planners as SME in regulatory processes and NEPA analysis; assist in client interactions and task management.
• Manage project team (office and field), deliverables, files, safety program, subconsultants, and contracting; monitor contracts, schedule, and budget.
• Report to Solana Beach, CA office but eligible for remote hybrid work arrangement.
