Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner Project Manager/Deputy Project Manager to lead NEPA efforts on Federally-owned lands, coordinating schedules, budgets, teams, and client communications across time zones.

You will mentor junior staff, review environmental documents, and oversee deliverables, while reporting to the Solana Beach, CA office with eligibility for remote hybrid work.

Qualifications

• 5 years of NEPA project management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or closely related field.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across time zones and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Environmental Planner Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager for NEPA projects on Federally-owned lands, managing schedule, budget, team coordination, QA, and client communications.
• Prepare and review environmental impact documents and mitigation plans (EA/EIS) and reviews of supporting studies (biological, cultural, geotechnical, air quality, wetlands).
• Mentor junior environmental planners as Subject Matter Expert in regulatory processes and technical analysis.
• Manage project team, contracts, deliverables, files, safety program, subconsultants, and client expectations; report to Solana Beach, CA office with remote hybrid eligibility.
