Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Board Certified Neonatology Nurse Practitioner to join an established team in an inpatient setting with 24/7 coverage. The role supports Level III NICU/PICU care and a pediatric hospitalist service, backed by strong subspecialist access and a robust staff.

This position emphasizes collaboration in a mission-driven health system. Ideal candidates will hold an IL NP license, possess an active NP credential, and have or obtain a BLS certificate promptly.

Qualifications

• BLS certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
• NP credentialed in Illinois before hire date.
• DEA registration preferred for controlled substances.
• RN license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join an established Neonatology team of physicians and NPs.
• Inpatient practice with in-house shifts.
• Provide 24/7 Neonatology coverage and support in Level III NICU/PICU.
• Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and hospitalists.
• Operate within Ascension’s mission-centered care framework.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Drug Administration Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
• Registered Nurse preferred.

Education

• Master's degree of Nursing required.
