Job summary

Ascension's Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis and Lafayette seeks a Neonatologist to join a busy NICU team.

Inpatient coverage across Level III/IV units, teaching residents and fellows, and collaboration with subspecialists are core parts of the role. Board-certified or -eligible in Neonatology, MD/DO required, fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and Indiana licensure eligibility are expected.

Qualifications

• MD/DO credentialed from medical licensing board or equivalent.
• Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage and high-level clinical service for neonates in Level III/IV NICUs.
• Attend daytime and night calls as part of in-house coverage.
• Teach and mentor pediatric residents, medical students, and APPs while engaging in network-wide quality initiatives.

• Join an established team of physicians and APPs (including NNPs, PAs, and PNPs)
• Call structure: In-house night call at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent Carmel
• Practice setting: Inpatient (Level III and Level IV NICUs)
• Access to NeoData EMR, a 109 private-room Level IV NICU, telehealth capabilities for regional nurseries, and a comprehensive network of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
• Provide coverage and high-level clinical service for neonates admitted to Level III and IV intensive care units, including day-time attending duties, high-risk delivery attendance, and consultation with high-risk obstetric patients.
• Provide clinical oversight, teaching, and mentorship to pediatric residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers while collaborating on network-wide quality improvement initiatives.
• Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine required

• 142-bed regional neonatal network (109 private room beds at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, 16 Level III beds at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel, and 17 Level III beds at Franciscan Hospital Lafayette)
• Trauma designation (Comprehensive Pediatric Trauma and specialized surgical support available across the network)
• Serving a population of approximately 2 million in the greater Indianapolis and Lafayette regional areas
• Integrated referral network admitting over 1,000 newborns and managing 5,000 deliveries annually with 7,000 providers nationwide

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
