Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Neonatal Milk Lab Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and distributing human milk, formula feedings, maintaining lab records, managing inventory through Smart Procurement, and cleaning NICU equipment such as Giraffe beds. Your role aligns with the goals of Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

• Participate in unit-based Quality Improvement processes.
• Coordinate and communicate patient care activities with patients and Registered Nurses.
• Prepare, label, and distribute human milk (including donor milk) using aseptic technique.
• Order and maintain sufficient inventory and supplies via Smart Procurement.
• Disinfect NICU equipment like Giraffe beds, Panda warmers, and cribs.
• Understand patient charts, physician orders, and nursing instructions.
• Follow guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or adverse outcomes.
• Transport medications from pharmacy to nursing staff, excluding narcotics.
• Schedule: Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in healthcare food service.
• Required: BLS certification.
