Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks an experienced neonatal Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to independently evaluate newborns in Well Newborn Nurseries and to develop and adjust informed management plans for complex cases. Collaboration with the supervising physician and inter‑professional team is essential to optimize patient care.

The role requires licensure in CT or NY/PA, with NRP certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Graduate degree in nursing accredited by one of the national certifying bodies in nursing.
• Physician Assistant: Graduation from a physician assistant program accredited, at the time of graduation, by the ARC-PA.
• Minimum of 5 years of neonatal APP experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently completes thorough evaluations and develops management plans for newborns.
• Collaborates with supervising physician and inter‑professional team to optimize patient care.
• Triages urgent and emergent issues and communicates decisions clearly.
• Documents diagnostic and therapeutic reasoning clearly in the patient record.
