Job summary

Connecticut Children's seeks an experienced Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to perform focused neonatal evaluations and routine newborn care, with progression toward independent practice. The role includes attending deliveries, participating in neonatal resuscitation, and escalating care as needed under supervision.

Applicants should have an NP or PA credential and complete orientation/competency validation before independent community-site coverage.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Graduate degree in nursing accredited by one of the national certifying bodies in nursing.
• Physician Assistant: Graduation from a physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA at time of graduation.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused neonatal evaluations and participate in newborn care under supervision, progressing toward independent practice.
• Attend deliveries and participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
• Develop and implement management plans for routine newborn care and common neonatal conditions.
• Coordinate escalation or transfer to higher level of neonatal care when clinically indicated.
