Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center seeks an Advanced Practitioner to provide focused evaluations and care for term and premature newborns in the NICU Level IV, under supervision toward independence in neonatal resuscitation.

The position requires Neonatal NP licensure or NCCPA certification for PA, with strong medical knowledge, communication, and teamwork in a high-acuity setting at 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: Graduate degree in nursing accredited by one of the national certifying bodies in nursing.
• Physician Assistant: Graduation from a physician assistant program accredited, at the time of graduation, by the ARC-PA.

Responsibilities

• Clinical knowledge. With guidance, applies basic medical knowledge to common diagnoses in department.
• Diagnostic evaluation. Provides basic evaluation for common diagnoses and supports broad evaluation.
• Patient care. Organize and prioritize patient care.
• Delivery room. Attends deliveries with preceptor until independence in neonatal resuscitation is established.
• Interpersonal and communication. Patient and family centered communications.
• Practice-based learning and improvement. Accesses available evidence with guidance.
• Professionalism. Proactive, thorough, and timely in responsibilities.
• System-based practice. Coordinates care and engages inter-professional team.
• Population and community health. Considers population health needs in patient care.
