Job summary

Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join a Level III NICU. This PRN role collaborates with neonatologists and nursing staff to develop and coordinate care plans for premature infants.

You will assist in deliveries, provide specialized consultations, and guide mothers through neonatal care. Wisconsin NP and RN licensure are required, with BLS preferred and DEA credentialing advantageous.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin NP credential required prior to hire or transfer date.
• Master's in Nursing required.
• BLS Provider preferred; ACLS accepted.
• DEA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with neonatologists and nursing staff to plan patient care.
• Provide support during deliveries and during NICU rounds.
• Offer specialized consultations and guidance to mothers of premature infants.
• Deliver comprehensive care for premature infants within a Level III NICU.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Collaborative team based approach between Neonatologists
• Always a neonatologist available within 30 minutes.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to develop, coordinate, and navigate patient care plans.
• Assist in or provide direct support during patient deliveries
• Conduct specialized consultations and provide guidance to mothers
• Provide specialized, comprehensive care for premature infants

About the Facility

• Well established Level III NICU facility
• Approximately 1300 births a year.
• Average daily census of 5-8 infants. (Gets about 10% of hospital births)
• The NICU has seasoned nurses with 40 years of experience.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.

Experienced preferred.

Additional Preferences:

• Ability to resuscitate infants, intubate, umbilical lines, manage a ventilator/oscillator and chest tubes.
• Ability to keep calm under pressure, work independently, problem solve, and think on your feet.
