Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN, invites applications for a Nursing Assistant role in the Rout Neonatal ICU on the night shift. Under direct supervision of a professional nurse, you will provide essential nursing care to neonates, following the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of the course requirements for graduation from an Associate’s Degree, Diploma or Bachelor of Science program in nursing (Required).
• Qualified to work with a broad patient population (neonate to geriatrics) as assigned (Required).
• NCLEX must be taken; second attempt may lead to ancillary role if unsuccessful (Required).
• RN licensure in TN or compact state within 90 days (Required).
• BCLS certification upon hire (Required).
• Experience in patient care from approved nursing program (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care according to medical regime and nursing plan for patients.
• Assesses, plans and implements patient care consistent with policies and safety practices.
• Performs duties specific to clinical area excluding medications, IVs, and blood products.
• Implements patient teaching using defined objectives and evaluation.
• Documents assessments and clinical judgments.
• Monitors patient status and responses to treatment.
• Reports unusual findings to healthcare team.
• Maintains patient records and charting; uses computer systems for data entry/retrieval.
• Responds to emergencies and assists with CPR as needed.
• Ensures confidentiality per HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Participates in mandatory trainings and performance improvement initiatives.
