Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Neonatal ICU nurse to assess, plan, implement, and supervise patient care on a dedicated nursing unit. You will work under supervision of the Manager/Director and uphold patient rights while closely coordinating with physicians and care teams.

Responsibilities include planning and documenting the plan of care, conducting comprehensive assessments, and ensuring safe medication administration and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Florida (or eNLC) and active BLS
• NRP certification to be maintained
• BSN or current enrollment in BSN program
• Competency assessment within 6 months for CCU setting

Responsibilities

• Communicates patient progress and critical findings to physician and care team
• Plans, implements, and documents the plan of care with other disciplines
• Completes nursing assessments and conducts timely reassessments
• Provides basic neonatal nursing care and responds to equipment promptly
• Completes admission histories and discharge planning per policy
• Accesses EHR and documents accurately
• Educates patients/families about health needs and medications
• Follows physician orders and adheres to medication rights
• Maintains safe care environment and thorough handoffs at shift change
• Secures endotracheal tubes when applicable and monitors skin integrity
• Performs specimen collection and shift-change patient info reporting
