Job summary

Community Memorial Healthcare seeks a Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to lead education for patients, families, and staff in the NICU and MCH units. The CNS will focus on improving clinical outcomes, advancing nursing knowledge, and acting as a role model within a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes developing and implementing simulation curricula and maintaining simulation equipment, while contributing to community education and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN licensure is required.
• CCNS or Neonatal NP certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) and NRP certification required.

Salary Range: $63.27 - $98.24 per hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities

This position is accountable for providing and maintaining the standards set forth by California Children's Services (CCS). The Neonatal CNS functions independently to provide education to patients/families and staff in the NICU and other MCH units. The primary goal of the Neonatal CNS is continuous improvement of patient outcomes and nursing care. The Neonatal CNS is primarily focused on improving clinical outcomes through high quality patient care, advancement of nursing knowledge, consultative services, research, community awareness and education. The Neonatal CNS serves as a positive role model, demonstrating expert professional nursing practice, strong customer service and enhanced leadership ability. The Neonatal CNS works on a collegial basis with the multidisciplinary team and other Educators, and is an active participant on various hospital committees. Develops and implements clinical simulation curricula and technical training in simulation technology for the MCH staff. Responsible for the maintenance of simulation equipment

Qualifications

Current licensure by the California State Board of Registered Nursing required.

California Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner required. Current RNC-NN certification or equivalent from a nationally recognized accrediting organization required. Current certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required. Must obtain NRP Instructor designation within three months of employment. Must have a minimum of three (3) years recent experience working in a level III NICU; Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist and teaching experience preferred. Experience with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
