Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled respiratory care professional to support advanced patient transport and critical care operations. You will perform clinical assessments, manage airway and ventilation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care in transport settings.

You will maintain certification requirements, participate in ongoing education, and support aviation and ground transport operations with CAMTS standards in mind.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory care required.
• Current RT license or temporary license as a registered petitioner; RRT required.
• BLS required.
• Paramedic Certification within 2 years of hire; EMT-P state certs as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate clinical assessments and patient care interventions.
• Delegates care tasks to appropriate healthcare workers.
• Participates in committees and facility decision making.
• Ensures safe, effective and financially responsible services.
• Maintains operational knowledge for transport modalities (ambulances, helicopters, airplanes).
• Initiates advanced procedures to improve patient outcomes and manages airway and ventilator support.
