Job summary

America West Medical Transportation is hiring a Transport Driver to operate on the road around the Lakehurst region. You will provide courteous customer service and assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle, offering a through-the-door service.

Responsibilities include pre-inspection checks, safe driving, and navigation using GPS. Flexible schedule is required to meet business needs and ensure timely transport services.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid state driver’s license or CDL for local routes.
• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles is a plus.
• Five years of driving history with no more than one moving violation or one at-fault accident in the last three years.
• Familiar with using GPS and cell phones for navigation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-inspection checks on all vehicles before operation.
• Drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.
• Assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and provide door-through service.

About the role

Work Location: On the road in and around the local Lakehurst region

We are seeking a courteous and friendly Transport Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Drivers must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a through the door service. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.

What You’ll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection checks on all vehicles they are driving. They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. Drivers must drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.

Qualifications

License

• Valid state driver’s license or commercial driver’s license required.

Education & Training

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus.
• Must have a valid specific state driver’s license of posted job location forat least five (5) yearswith no more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at fault accident in the last three (3) years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
• Experience working with the elderly population
• Physical certifications: Non-DOT Physical, Drug, TB, and Breath Alcohol test
• Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual in another language in addition to English preferred

Physical Requirements

Driver must be able to pass the physical test:

• Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
• Bend from the waist
• Pivot from waist
• Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing
