Job summary

America West Medical Transportation in San Francisco is seeking a courteous NEMT Driver to deliver excellent customer service. You will assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and provide a through-the-door service, while performing pre-trip inspections and safely transporting clients to destinations.

Applicants should have a valid state driver’s license (CDL or non-CDL), a clean driving record, and familiarity with the local area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• License: Valid state driver’s license or CDL required.
• Knowledge and experience: Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles is a plus.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license for posted job location for at least three years preferred, with limited moving violations or at-fault accidents in last 3 years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating with GPS.
• Experience working with elderly population is a plus.
• Physical certifications: Non-DOT Physical, Drug, TB, and Breath Alcohol tests.
• Acceptable background screens including criminal checks and drug/alcohol screening.
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese preferred.
• Open to CDL and non-CDL drivers.

About the Role

We are seeking a courteous and friendly wheelchair NEMT Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Drivers must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a “through the door” service. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.

What You’ll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

NEMT Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection checks on all vehicles they are driving. They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. NEMT Drivers must drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.

Qualifications

License

• Valid state driver’s license or commercial driver’s license required.

Education & Training

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus.
• Must have a valid specific state driver’s license of posted job location forat least three (3) years preferred,with no more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at fault accident in the last three (3) years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
• Experience working with the elderly population
• Physical certifications: Non-DOT Physical, Drug, TB, and Breath Alcohol test
• Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements

Driver must be able to pass the physical test:

• Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
• Bend from the waist
• Pivot from waist
• Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing
