Job summary

America West Transportation LLC seeks a courteous NEMT Driver to provide wheelchair transport services with a focus on safety and superior customer care. You will assist clients entering and exiting the vehicle and ensure a smooth, door-to-door service while maintaining professional conduct on every ride.

The role requires flexibility in scheduling and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, including background and drug screenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-inspection checks on assigned vehicles and ensure all equipment is safely stored.

• Maintain awareness of safety protocols and company policies during every trip.
• Comply with background checks, drug screening, and DOT requirements as applicable.

About the Role

We are seeking a courteous and friendly wheelchair NEMT Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Drivers must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a "through the door" service. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.

What You'll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

NEMT Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection checks on all vehicles they are driving. They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. NEMT Drivers must drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.

Qualifications

License

• Valid state driver's license or commercial driver's license required.

Education & Training

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus.
• Must have a validspecificstate driver's license of posted job location for at least three (3) years preferred, with no more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at fault accident in the last three (3) years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
• Experience working with the elderly population
• Physical certifications: Non-DOT Physical, Drug, TB, and Breath Alcohol test
• Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.

Working Conditions

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening
• May be subjected to multiple drug and alcohol screenings to maintain Driver credentials

Physical Requirements

Driver must be able to pass the physical test:

• Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
• Bend from the waist
• Pivot from waist
• Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing
