Job summary

Southeastern Life Center is seeking a part‑time Dispatcher in Pembroke, NC to schedule and dispatch transportation for non‑emergency clients. You will balance passenger counts, driver availability, trip lengths, and appointment times to ensure on‑time service.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily schedules, handling last‑minute changes, and maintaining clear communication across departments while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Good people skills with a caring and polite manner.
• Must have a valid NC driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Preferred: Previous driving experience working in patient transport.
• CPR, First Aid, NCI and/or role related certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily/weekly transportation schedules and assign drivers.
• Schedule last‑minute trips to ensure on‑time client arrivals.
• Resolve problems such as vehicle issues or road closures to minimize disruptions.
• Maintain communication between departments, drivers, and customers.
• Prepare detailed activity reports and complete required paperwork on time.
• Monitor driver work limits and safety regulations, including DOT guidelines.
• Follow up on accidents/incidents and file investigations as needed.
• Coordinate with community providers for transportation needs
• Provide fill‑in coverage to ensure service continuity
• Report incidents to hospital personnel per policy
