Job summary

Southeast Life Center is seeking a part-time Dispatcher to coordinate patient transportation and schedule drivers for medical appointments in Pembroke, NC. You will manage daily routes, balance passenger loads, and adapt to last-minute changes while maintaining a caring, patient-centered approach.

The role emphasizes safety, communication with drivers and maintenance, and strict adherence to DOT and organizational policies. Experience with dispatch systems and GPS tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: valid NC driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Preferred: prior patient transport driving experience.
• CPR, first aid, NCI and/or related certification within 3 months of hire.
• PASS Basic, CTAA, PASS Wheelchair, and related training within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily/weekly transportation schedules and assign drivers.
• Handle last-minute trips to ensure on-time arrivals.
• Communicate with maintenance, drivers, and customers to resolve issues.
• Provide detailed activity reports and complete paperwork on time.
• Monitor safety and compliance with DOT and other regulations.
• Follow up on accidents/incidents and report per policy.
• Coordinate with community providers for transportation services.
• Fill in as needed for staffing gaps.
