Job summary

MISTRAS is seeking an NDT trainee to assist Level II/III technicians with designated NDT method activities while gaining experience and knowledge.

The role supports setup, maintenance, documentation, and packing of parts, with a focus on safety, quality, and meeting customer needs. Training will cover company policies and procedures, inventory control, and compliance with quality systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and respond to short notice work
• Must communicate well with supervisors and co-workers
• Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes (overtime may be required)
• Capable of working in a high-pace environment to meet customer needs
• Basic computer skills (word processing, data entry, and simple spreadsheets)
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Must pass an eye exam for vision and color test.

Responsibilities

• Assist Level II/III with set-up as directed and required.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
• Complete assigned process in a timely manner to ensure compliance with schedule and customer needs.
• Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
• Review work order instructions to ensure processing is complete per specifications.
• Monitor NDT inventory and submit requisitions for ordering.
• Ensure quality system requirements and controlled documents are followed.
• Participate in quality systems, safety, and training as directed.
• Unpack incoming product and help pack finished product.
• Prep and wash parts for NDT Level II inspectors.
• May operate daily production needs under supervision.
• Notify safety management of incidents and provide assistance as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
