MISTRAS in the United States is seeking an NDT Trainee to assist Level II and Level III Technicians with designated NDT methods while gaining practical experience. You will support NDT operations, documentation, production processes, safety, and day-to-day activities under supervision.

Position Summary:-

The NDT Trainee will assist Level II and Level III Technicians with designated NDT method activities while gaining practical experience and knowledge. The role supports NDT operations, documentation, production processes, quality requirements, safety procedures, and day-to-day activities under the appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities:-
  • Assist Level II and Level III Technicians with equipment setup as directed and required.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
  • Complete assigned processes in a timely manner to meet schedules and customer needs.
  • Learn and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Review work order instructions provided by the NDT Level III to ensure processing is completed according to specification requirements.
  • Monitor NDT inventory required for day-to-day operations and submit requisitions to the team lead in a timely manner for ordering.
  • Complete work in accordance with controlled documents and work instructions affecting the quality of work and processes under MISTRAS quality system requirements.
  • Comply with flow-down requirements and planning as required.
  • Participate in quality systems, safety, process, and quality training as directed.
  • Unpack incoming products and assist with packing finished products.
  • Prepare and wash parts for NDT Level II inspectors.
  • Operate daily production processes only under the direct supervision of a Level II or higher technician.
  • Provide required notification to appropriate safety management personnel in the event of an incident and provide assistance as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks or processes for which the trainee is qualified and as directed by management.
Qualifications:-

  • Ability to pass an eye examination covering both vision and color testing.
Requirements:-
  • Must pass an eye exam for vision and color.
  • Must be capable of working under the direct supervision of a Level II or higher technician for daily production needs.
  • Must be able to adapt to overtime or schedule changes as required by workflow.
  • Must be able to comply with applicable controlled documents, work instructions, quality system requirements, flow-down requirements, safety requirements, and company procedures.
Essential Physical Functions:-
  • Ability to work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 20–50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with water under changing temperature conditions.
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
Compensation:-
  • Hourly range: $18–$22 per hour.
