NDT Technician Senior in GAC Westfield

Unique Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Certification in ET, UT, and RT Non-Destructive Testing methods is preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. At least 4 years of NDT-related experience required. Certified in two NAS 410 NDT methods; ability to be certified in a third within 1 year. Additional certifications in more than two NAS 410 NDT methods are preferred. ASQ certification (American Society for Quality) is also preferred.
Position Purpose
Performing all tasks in the area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to ensure aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to type design data in a team-oriented environment.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) and determine product acceptability according to prescribed methods and procedures.
  2. Record, organize, and evaluate test results; enter results into applicable documents.
  3. Ensure compliance with all radiation safety rules and regulations; provide protection during testing.
  4. Maintain equipment and ensure calibration for tests.
  5. Maintain inventory control of area equipment.
Additional Functions:
  1. Assist other NDT Technicians as required.
  2. Coordinate NDT inspection workload based on priorities, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Provide technical assistance to subordinate NDT technicians.
  4. Perform process control on inspection equipment.
  5. Conduct safety checks, establish radiation safety barriers, zero pocket dosimeters, operate survey meters, and complete logs and forms.
  6. Perform automated ultrasonic C-scan inspections of composite parts.
  7. Must be available to work any shift.
Other Duties:
  1. Provide formal NDT training records.
  2. Experience in determining product acceptability preferred.
  3. Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  4. Ability to read scales and perform basic math.
  5. Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  6. Possess essential personal and communication skills.
  7. Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.
  8. Proficient in current computer-based software.
  9. Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
  10. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, understanding).
