Job summary

Valmont Industries in Tulsa, OK is seeking an NDT Inspector - Associate to evaluate fabricated materials using dimensional checks, weld visual inspection and nondestructive testing (ultrasonic, mag particle, penetrant). You will work under a Level II Inspector to ensure quality and coordinate with production to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma with 5+ years or assoc degree with 2+ years or BA/BS with 2 years in fabricated steel.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions to decimals.
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape, calipers, fillet weld gauges, levels) for dimensional accuracy.
• Level I NDT certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to operate NDT testing equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with plant staff, supervision and customers.
• Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain focus on timely, accurate results.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Test and evaluate products for conformance to specs and company standards.
• Make decisions regarding codes and specifications under supervision of a Level II NDT Inspector.
• Interpret NDT reports and determine material acceptance.
• Have authority to reject material or stop work to minimize losses and risk of dissatisfaction.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure proper use and upkeep.
• Participate in department safety and maintain good attendance.
• Report issues to the supervisor and coordinate with production to maintain workflow.
• Generate and maintain NDT reports and records for company and contractors.
