Job summary

RTX seeks an Nondestructive Evaluation Engineer to develop inspection techniques and tooling for aerospace components. You will plan and execute projects, advancing eddy current, ultrasonics, X-ray, FPI, and borescope applications while ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.

In collaboration with Pratt & Whitney, you will verify that techniques meet flaw detection and POD requirements, contributing to programs for military and commercial engines.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Engineering or Materials Science required.
• Experience with NDE technologies (electromagnetic, ultrasonics, X-ray/CT, FPI, etc.).
• US citizenship required for access under this program/contract.
• NDE degree preferred.
• Experience with electromagnetic or NDE modeling tools (COMSOL, CST, CIVA).
• Strong communication and detail orientation; ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Develop new inspection techniques, sensors, tooling, and procedures for nondestructive inspection applications (eddy current, ultrasonics, X-ray, FPI, borescope, etc.).
• Plan, manage, and execute inspection development projects on schedule.
• Create advanced inspection tooling and progress technologies to support field deployment.
• Collaborate with MPE-NDE Applications and Training teams on deployment to operations.
• Monitor project issues and drive resolutions to meet customer and program goals.
• Verify inspection techniques meet flaw detection requirements and POD metrics.
