Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a NCPA Program Associate to provide personalized academic support and guidance to NCPA students in Omaha, and to coordinate multi-day summer programming for UNL’s NCPA high school students. The role includes coordinating recruitment programs and serving as a liaison between UNL, Omaha and partner communities.

Responsibilities include meeting with counselors, planning events, and travel as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, and ability to work independently.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with first generation, low-income and ethnic-minority students necessary.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to relate to K-12 age populations.
  • Weekend and evening hours required.
  • Travel required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized academic support and guidance for NCPA students in Omaha.
  • Coordinate all multi-day summer programming for NCPA high school students at UNL.
  • Coordinate recruitment programs in Omaha.
  • Meet with school counselors and prospective students; interact with community organization and agency staff.
  • Plan and implement special events and programs for recruitment/retention of first generation/low-income students.
  • Serve as liaison between UNL, Omaha and other communities.
