Job summary

Talent Solutions Partners is seeking a Project Manager for NCDOT work in Charlotte and central North Carolina. You will manage heavy civil roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, leading field teams and coordinating with owners and engineers.

You will own budgets, schedules, forecasts, and margins, ensuring safety and quality while reporting to senior leadership. Relocation to the Charlotte area is welcomed for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• Experience running projects from start to finish, not an APM/ENG role.
• Only contractor-side backgrounds; consultants/inspectors not a fit.
• Strong cost control, scheduling, change orders and field-team management.

Responsibilities

• Run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects as PM of record from preconstruction through closeout.
• Own the budget, schedule, cost reports, forecasting and margin on every job.
• Submit accurate cost and income projections and act on variances early.
• Lead superintendents, field engineers and subcontractors to hit production, quality and safety.
• Serve as main contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors.
• Issue subcontracts and purchase orders and manage subcontractor performance.
• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and handoff so the job starts right.
