Job summary

Macon Program for Progress seeks a NC Pre-K Lead Teacher to plan and supervise a Head Start/NC Pre-K classroom. You will implement developmentally appropriate curricula, support bilingual development, and maintain strong family involvement in a full-time, year-round position.

Responsibilities include providing nurturing interactions, conducting screenings, and ensuring learning environments meet Head Start standards. Ability to work in varied weather and maintain attendance records is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with NC B-K licensure required.
• 1–2 years of experience in early childhood development preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, supervise and evaluate Head Start/NC Pre-K classroom activities.
• Maintain health and safety practices to ensure children’s safety.
• Conduct developmental screenings and review progress with families.
• Engage in high-quality teacher/child interactions and manage classroom ratios.

Education

Bachelor's Degree with NC B-K Licensure

1-2 years experience in early childhood development
