Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is seeking a Navy Weapons Technician – MK45 to support the U.S. Navy and SWRMC, diagnosing and repairing complex naval weapon systems aboard ships.

You will liaise with Navy engineers, program managers and logistics personnel, ensuring maintenance and lifecycle management of MK45, MK38, MK110, MK46 and related equipment. Ideal candidates have a Navy A and C school background, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience with MK45 MOD2 or MOD4.
  • Navy Gunner's Mate "A" School graduate.
  • Navy 5”/54 MK45 MOD2 "C" School graduate.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining associated systems.
  • Strong technical comprehension with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system drawings, and procedural corrective and repair standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to provide technical findings orally and/or written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technical applications.

  • Provide technical support for procurement, installation, at-sea testing, preventive/corrective maintenance, and lifecycle management of systems.

Position Summary

You will be supporting U.S. Navy Ships and serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert. You will interface with U.S. Navy civilian engineers, program managers and logisticians as well as equipment manufacturers. Additional duties may be assigned, including but not limited to logistics, material, and safety responsibilities as it relates to position.

Security Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance required (Security clearance eligibility may be considered on a case-by-case basis.)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Direct, oversee repair activities, train, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the following:
    • MK45 MOD 2 or MOD 4
    • MK38 MOD 2 or MOD 3
    • MK110 Gun Mounts
    • MK46
    • Night Vision Devices
    • Crew Served Weapons and Mounts
    • Magazine Sprinkler Systems (Fairmont, Consilium, FDAS)
  • Provide technical support for procurement, installation, at-sea testing, preventive/corrective maintenance, and lifecycle management of systems.
  • Interpret technical manuals, apply repair standards, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands and Expectations
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling tools/equipment.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to board ships and naval crafts, navigating passageways and steep ladders.
  • Comfortable working in shipboard and industrial environments.
