Job summary
Ignite Digital is seeking an experienced Engineer/Scientist II to provide engineering, systems support, and software development expertise for a US Navy software maintenance initiative in the Norfolk, VA area.
The role supports mission-critical Navy and joint operational readiness activities, applying advanced engineering and analytical skills to help modernize, develop, sustain, and test complex defense systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Three years of experience in software development and maintenance, including systems/support and test & evaluation.
- One year of technical experience supporting a software development and maintenance project/program.
Responsibilities
- Support software development, sustainment, and modernization activities across project efforts.
- Conduct systems/equipment support, troubleshooting, and lifecycle sustainment activities.
- Perform test & evaluation support including documentation, data analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and refine technical solutions.
- Apply engineering principles to model, assess, and improve mission and maintenance workflows.
- Support government objectives through disciplined engineering and project execution.
