Job summary

Ignite Digital seeks a skilled Engineer/Scientist I to support a US Navy software maintenance initiative in the Norfolk, VA area. The role covers software development, testing, and system support to enable mission-critical Navy capabilities and joint operations.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, disciplined engineering practices, and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions for complex defense requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems, Computer Science.
• 1 year of experience in software development and maintenance including systems/equipment support and test/evaluation support.
• Experience with DoD DoW C4ISR, maintenance, logistics, or business systems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support software development, maintenance, and engineering tasks across project efforts.
• Assist with systems and equipment support, troubleshooting, and sustainment.
• Contribute to test and evaluation activities, reporting, and documentation.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop, refine, and validate technical solutions.
• Apply engineering principles to support modeling, analysis, system assessments, and technical workflow improvement.
• Collaborate with government and contractor personnel to meet project objectives and timelines.
